ACL 2016

Day 1

The day starts off with an off-site gathering at the 4 seasons hosted by the beloved public radio station KUTX. Starting at 9:30 am, a $10 donation gets you coffee, a breakfast taco, and several hours of great music. One to the truly special events in downtown Austin. The show is also broadcasted over their radio station for those that can’t make the event: For more information

After the ATX filled line-up in the Morning, it’s time to head over the Zilker Park. The first shows start at 11:15 in the Tito’s tent with Gospel Silver Tones. Three more shows starting at 11:30. I will probably have to work a few hours on Friday, so the first big show on the agenda is Cold War Kids from 5:00 till 6:00. Then we will try to make my way into the Radiohead show pretty early for nice seats, they headline the Samsung stage from 8:00 till 10:00.

For those of you that like an ATX Music night cap after Festival, Stubb’s and Antones are two of the great venues in downtown Austin. Some tickets are still available, online. It’s tough to find people selling them at the door.

Saturday is a fun packed festival of Music with the first show kicking off at 11:45 WITH Endurance. some of the other shows I plan on seeing this day include Luck Diaz and Family Jam Band, 4:30 til 5:00. Cage the Elephant at 6:30. I would like to go see the Chainsmokers from 7:30-8:30, but my gang probably isn’t going to let me get away with that one. Andrew Bird is also playing at the same time.
