Carnival Brasileiro –  Feb 5

Carnival in Austin is one of the biggest Brazilian Carnival celebrations outside Brazil according  to their website. While this seems hard to believe,  we have never made it to this event, and it isn’t always a known “thing” to the locals. It’s a big dance party that is a single night affair. No floats and this year it will be held at the Speakeasy bar downtown. Tickets are recommended in advance, and I could see this event selling out this year. Costumes are encouraged. From the picture I assume you would look like an idiot showing up in jeans and a dress shirt. Get their early if you want to get body painted.
