Eeyores Birthday is a daylong festival that has been taking place since 1963. What began as a tradition spurred from UT’s English Department is now an Austin community event of 52 years. Attendees wear colorful costumes, enjoy live music, and have a plethora of local non-profit organizations vending food and drink to choose from. The event takes place the last Saturday in April at Pease District Park. In honor of Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh, chronically depressed Eeyore thought his friends forgot his birthday, only to find out later that a surprise had been assembled in his honor. This is one of the favorite events of many of the long time ATX Locals. The ATX Surf staff is going to try to attend this year!
